Single spine plasticity and FLIM-FRET imaging: Arc signaling and capsid function

Position: Post-doctoral Position

Deadline: 23 September 2023

Employment Start Date: 1 February 2024

Contract Length: 3 years

City: Bergen

Country: Norway

Institution: University of Bergen

Department: Biomedicine

Description:

The Medical Faculty at the University of Bergen has open postdoctoral positions.  Professor Clive Bramham, head of the Mohn Research Center for the Brain, seeks to identify an outstanding candidate to apply with for a postdoctoral project.  An overriding goal is to elucidate the molecular and cell biological mechanisms of Arc, organization of neuronal plasticity (synaptic and nuclear), and the impact of neural network function. New tools are available for domain-specific inhibition and activation of Arc, including TAT-peptides and nanobodies. The group is specifically looking for candidates with a strong publication record and experience with 1) 1p/2p imaging in rodent hippocampal slices and 2) FLIM-FRET imaging.  The applicant will join a multidisciplinary and international team.

Candidates interested in applying should send a CV and cover letter to clive.bramham@uib.no as soon as possible and before September 20. Informal enquiries are welcome.
