The Ion Channel and Synaptic Neurobiology Unit (UNIS, headed by D. Debanne) offers a unique expertise in functional cell plasticity and molecular analysis of ion channel neurobiology. UNIS uses a wide range of experimental approaches in molecular and cellular neuroscience (molecular and cellular biology, patch-clamp, computer modeling, live cell imaging, biochemistry…). The scientific quality of UNIS is attested by its publications in high profile journals (Neuron, Science Advances, Nature Communications, PNAS…).

We are seeking for a young group leader, typically as a first independent position specialized in neurophysiology and/or neuroimaging in vivo.

We expect candidates to develop a competitive and independent research program. Applicants should hold a PhD or MD/PhD degree, with a record of outstanding training and exceptional research potential.

The deadline for application is 1st December 2023. Preselection of the candidates will occur in winter before interview in March 2024. The selected candidate will then be invited to apply for young investigator programs (ERC Starting grant, ATIP/Avenir program, A*Midex) during the fall 2024.
