Description:

Lund Stem Cell Center (SCC) is an internationally ranked research center in the strategic areas of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine within Lund University, Scandinavia’s largest institution for education and research. The Lund Stem Cell Center is a strong international research center with a focus on stem cell and developmental biology of the central nervous system and blood system, development of stem cell and cell replacement therapies in these organ systems, as well as research in non-mammalian model systems.

One post doc position is available  in the Ahlenius group at the SCC.

We are using stem cell, reprogramming and genome engineering technologies to develop models and novel therapeutics for brain disorders.

In this project the candidate will, based on our recent discoveries, use direct reprogramming of patient cells towards glial and neuronal lineages for modeling of Alzheimer’s disease.

We are looking for highly motivated recently graduated (within 3 years) top-level PhD with a strong background from molecular biology-, neurodegeneration-, reprogramming- and/or neurobiology fields. Hands on experience working with direct cellular reprogramming, advanced neural cell culture and/or imaging technologies are meriting.
