Description:

We are seeking candidates for n. 3 positions (Assegni di Roicerca) at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology (SAPIENZA, University of Rome, Italy), in the laboratory led by Prof. Alexandra Battaglia-Mayer.

The project, funded by MIUR of Italy, is aimed at understanding the neural bases of the abilities to control and coordinate our movements when acting in a social context, and the decisional processes that guides the inter-individual action coordination. The neural mechanisms will be studied by analyzing brain activity, through single unit and Local Field Potential recording techniques on behaving monkeys.

Ideal candidates have a PhD in Neuroscience or a related field, experience in research with animals and/or expertise in neural data analysis (single-unit, multi-unit, LFPs, EEG) with competence in Matlab programming and strong interest in research activity.

We also encourage applications from  candidates not holding a PhD degree yet, but with experience in research activity in the field of Behavioral Neuroscience, or alternatively with a strong background in Math or Physics and intersted in research on Cognitive Neuroscience.

The starting date for these positions is flexible (around the beginning of February). Initially for one year, the positions can be extended for a second year.

Salary: €24.300/annum (based on SAPIENZA regulations).
