Description

Our Laboratory is specialized in optical techniques applied to brain slices with a long record of experience in the field. The selected candidate will principally work on a project exploiting a new mouse line expressing a genetically encoded voltage sensor in excitatory neurons. Specifically, she/he will characterise optical signals combining them with patch clamp recordings and investigate how global network activity can be exploited to develop novel assessments for therapeutic molecules in an ex-vivo environment.

Profile of the candidate

The preferred candidate will have experience and skills in electrophysiology in brain slices. This position is ideal for a young scientist at her/his first postdoctoral experience, although more senior candidates will be also considered. Candidates from EU countries outside France wishing to apply for a Marie Curie or EMBO postdoctoral fellowship are encouraged since this opportunity may result in a direct prolongation of contract that is already secured with available funding. This project may open a path for a career in pharmaceutical industry.
