A one-year post-doctoral position is available to work from Februaray 1st, 2024, at the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences (CIMeC), University of Trento, Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Yuri Bozzi.
The fellowship is funded by the Autism Research Institute (USA) to carry out a project entitled “A broad-range anti-inflammatory treatment to rescue behavior deficits and microglia dysfunction in the Shank3b mouse model of syndromic autism”. Immune dysfunction recently emerged as a major contributor to neurodevelopmental deficits observed in autism. In this project, the post-doc fellow will investigate whether an anti-inflammatory treatment can reduce motor deficits in Shank3b-/- mice, a well-established model of autism. The ideal candidate would have a PhD in neuroscience or related subject, with experience in molecular, anatomical and behavioral characterization of mouse models of neurological/neuropsychiatric disorders.
