Description:

The School of Physiology, Pharmacology, and Neuroscience at the University of Bristol  is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Neuroscience (tenured group leader).  Successful applicants are expected to have a track record of high-quality research in that focuses on mechanisms underlying mental health disorders as well as their treatment, ideally adding to our strengths in biological rhythms and sleep, pain, brain plasticity and cognition. We encourage ‘big data’ or ‘Population Neuroscience’ approaches enabling integration of multi-scale biological insights into brain mechanisms and function in the context of inter-individual variability and societal, familial, or age-dependent experience.

The successful applicants will join a collegial, supportive department with a vibrant research environment and a passion for excellence in research and teaching.  They will have a strong, well-developed research profile beyond doctoral level, with an emerging or established record of high-quality publishing commensurate with the applicant’s career stage.  You will be able to demonstrate your ability to contribute effectively to the management and delivery of undergraduate teaching, including supervising student dissertations and running tutorials.
