Deadline: 1 June 2024
Employment Start Date: 13 June 2024
Contract Length: minimum of 3 years

Description:
A full-time salaried postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded laboratory of Dr. Sebnem Tuncdemir at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Department of Neuroscience.
The Tuncdemir lab studies the circuit mechanisms that underlie memory discrimination for adaptive, flexible behaviors in health and disease (Tuncdemir et al Neuron ’23, Cell Reports ’22, Neuron ’16). This research integrates variety of cutting-edge methods including: two photon calcium imaging, electrophysiology, mouse transgenics, viral vector based neural circuit analysis, memory guided behaviors, and the population-level analysis of neural representations and dynamics.
Applicants with experience in 1) calcium imaging, 2) rodent surgical or behavioral paradigms, and/or 3) the computational analysis of large datasets who are interested in furthering our understanding of the interactions between memory, cognition and neuropathologies across the lifespan are strongly encouraged to apply. The lab works closely with the Grosmark lab as part of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine’s Memory and Cognition team.
If you are interested in applying, please email tuncdemir@uchc.edu, a single file that includes a cover letter (research experience, career goals, and interest in the position) and CV (education, publications, conferences, honors & achievements, and the contact information for at least 3 individuals for recommendation).
