Postdoc in Systems Neuroscience (all genders welcome)
This position should be filled by March 1, 2025. The regular working hours will be (currently 39,8 hours per week) with a contract until September 30, 2026. Salary: Pay grade 13 TV-L.
Candidates with experience in multielectrode electrophysiology in vivo and/or 2-photon imaging are preferred. Sound programming skills (e.g. Matlab) and enthusiasm and fundamental interest in basic neuroscience research are a must. The Löwel-lab investigates sensory processing and neuronal plasticity in the visual cortex of mice raised in varying environments and/or with modified synaptic proteins. Techniques include 2-photon calcium and spine imaging, optical imaging of intrinsic signals, multielectrode electrophysiology, virus injections and diverse behavioural tests to analyze visual performance and plasticity. We offer a stimulating scientific environment in a dynamic, young and international team and state-of-the-art facilities. We guarantee extensive and individual training. The ideal applicant should hold a PhD in Neuroscience or equivalent.
