Post-doctoral position in Neural Stem Cells

Position: Post-doctoral Position

Deadline: 15 July 2025

Employment Start Date: 1 September 2025

Contract Length: 2-3 years

City: Ottawa

Country: Canada

Institution: University of Ottawa

Department: Cellular and Molecular Medicine

Description:

Interested in Neural Stem Cells (NSCs) physiology and function? Want to monitor NSCs activation and division using in vivo live imaging approaches in behaving animals and link it to animal behavior? We are hiring!

Post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Armen Saghatelyan (https://www.saghatelyanlab.com/research) at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada, to monitor NSCs activation in freely behaving mice and decipher the molecular and cellular mechanisms allowing NSCs to decode and integrate different micro-environmental signals. We use multidisciplinary approaches combining in vivo mini-endoscopic imaging of NSCs in freely behaving mice, in vivo and ex vivo Ca2+ imaging, optogenetic stimulations and behavioral tracking, as well as CRISPR-Cas9 and transgenic mice to manipulate specific molecular pathways.
