Description:
The candidate will work on the NCN project (SONATA 20, 2024/55/D/NZ3/02412), in which we aim to identify the hippocampal impairments and sex differences in AMOTL1 KO mice. The study will be conducted in the Synaptogenesis Research Group – the laboratory which conducts multidisciplinary research on the brain and neuromuscular junctions. The laboratory is multicultural – about half of the team coming from abroad. The post-doc will work on the NCN project in which we aim to investigate the role of AMOTL1 in the brain in relation to psychiatric diseases. The primary scope of the current project is to determine functions of AMOTL1 in the ventral hippocampus in the context of mood and anxiety disorders. The work of the post-doc will be predominantly concentrated on molecular, cellular, and histological abnormalities related to our genetic model. The successful applicant will also participate in writing articles and grants, mentoring students, and possibly participating in international conferences. Overall, the successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to boost his/her scientific career in the neurobiology field and broaden his/her scientific community.
