Domain Neurons and Glia: Intrinsic Properties, Cell Biology and Cell Types
Sub domains Development of neural systems
Lab description
Our research investigates the mechanisms that assemble circuit architecture in vivo and ensure its integrity throughout life, focusing on spatiotemporal interactions of neurons and glia. Using C. elegans as a model, we combine real-time imaging, genetics, genomics, molecular approaches to dissect circuit formation. We aim to identify molecular factors driving pioneer cell identity, morphogenesis, and functional connectivity. We dissect roles of pioneer cells, neuron-glia crosstalk, and conserved mechanisms in neural architecture. By mapping these interactions, we aim to uncover fundamental principles of circuit formation and maintenance.
