Schramberg, Black Forest, November 4th – 6th, 2019

The Conference of the Junior Neuroscientists of Tübingen (NeNa) brings together PhD and Master-Students from various backgrounds in the diverse field of neuroscience. It provides a forum for junior scientists to present and discuss their scientific work, exchange their knowledge and experience with peers in an interdisciplinary and intercultural environment.

Keynote lectures from three invited speakers:

Octavian Voiculescu (University of Cambridge) on growth and form of the neurulating embryo. He will explore the mechanism of shaping the embryo in amniotes (higher vertebrates), and how the main axis, including the neural plate, is generated by the action of stem zones.

Simon Jacob (Technical University of Munich), on cellular and circuit dynamics of executive control: from mouse to man.

Birgit Derntl (University of Tübingen), tbd. The main focus of Birgit’s research is the interaction between gender, (endogenous and synthetic) sex hormones and health with regards to socio-emotional competencies.

Registration:

Please register at https://nenaconference.wordpress.com/registration/. The conference is from Monday, November 4th to Wednesday, November 6th, the deadline for registration is September 30th, 2019. Once participants have successfully registered, they can upload an abstract until October 6th, 2019. The conference language is English and the conference fee is 45 Euros (price includes bus transfer from Tübingen to the conference location, accommodation, meals as well as coffee and beverages during the day). Registrations are binding. Students affiliated with the Graduate Training Centre of Neuroscience Tübingen who are actively participating (presenting a poster, talk or giving a workshop) are exempt from the fee.

Travel Funds:

A restricted number of travel awards for students outside Tübingen and Germany are available. Early registration will facilitate the travel award application process.
