Transylvanian Experimental Neuroscience Summer School 2016 (TENSS)
Pike Lake, RO
Attendance type(s): In Person
Event Dates: 01—19 Jun 2016
The Transylvanian Experimental Neuroscience Summer School TENSS (www.tenss.ro) is organized annually since 2012, at Pike Lake in Transylvania, Romania. TENSS is a hands-on experimental neuroscience course where a dozen students learn the latest techniques used in neuroscience research: optical imaging, optogenetics, electrophysiology, behavioral setups, data analysis. Addressed to a graduate student/postdoc audience, the course is focused on experimental and theoretical methods to study how the brain operates at the level of neuronal circuits. It covers various optical and electrophysiological concepts and techniques used currently in systems neuroscience from the basics to advanced topics on both theoretical and experimental grounds. TENSS is designed to be a highly interactive, hands-on experience, reflecting the atmosphere of CSHL, Woods Hole or Champalimaud courses. Typically, each course day contains an extended lab session and several theoretical lectures. To apply for the course, please visit www.tenss.ro.
