FENS-EJN Awards & Prizes: Nominations open!

Ahead of the 2026 FENS Forum in Barcelona (FENS2026), FENS is teaming up with EJN – The European Journal and Wiley Publishing to offer the FENS-EJN Award and the FENS-EJN Early Career Investigator Prize. Find out more and submit your nominations below!

The FENS-EJN Award

Sponsored by Wiley (publisher of EJN), the FENS-EJN Award recognises outstanding scientific contributions to any area of neuroscience. The winner of the award will receive a personal prize of 10,000 GBP and a prize lecture slot at FENS2026, and will be asked to write a review for publication in EJN.

Eligibility: Candidates must be nominated by fellow neuroscientists (no self-application) and either be working in a European research institution or, if working elsewhere, be of European origin.

The FENS-EJN Early Career Investigator Prize

Sponsored by Wiley, the FENS-EJN Early Career Investigator Prize is specifically intended for early career researchers, in recognition of exceptional contributions to any area of neuroscience. The winner of the prize will receive 7,000 GBP and a prize lecture slot at FENS2o26, and will be invited to write a review for publication in EJN.

Eligibility: Candidates must be at most 10 years post-PhD at the initial nomination deadline (minus any periods of parental or (documented) health-related leave) and be either working in a European research institution or, if working elsewhere, be of European origin. Individuals may apply themselves or be nominated by fellow neuroscientists.

The nomination deadline for both the FENS-EJN Award and the FENS-EJN Early Career Investigator Prizes is 19 August 2025. You may submit nominations for both on their respective webpages.
