FENS Forum 2026: Meet us in Barcelona!

FENS News, Neuroscience News

From 26-28 December 2024, FENS leadership convened with representatives from across our network of member societies for the FENS Executive Committee and Governing Council Meetings in Brussels.

At the meetings, Barcelona was confirmed as the new host city for the 2026 FENS Forum, replacing Madrid. This change of location was prompted by a recent announcement that a new Formula One race circuit will be constructed in the area surrounding the Madrid venue beginning in 2026.

Despite the change of the location, the Forum will still be hosted by the Spanish Society of Neuroscience. The Chair of the Host Society Committee, Dr Maria Dolores Ledesma, will be joined by co-chair Dr Mara Dierssen, who previously served as Chair of the Host Society Committee for the 2012 FENS Forum in Barcelona.

While meeting in Brussels, FENS leaders and members societies also cast their votes for the Programme Committee of the 2026 Forum. This diverse, international group of neuroscience experts will be led by Prof. Emre Yaksi.
