MQ exists to plug major long standing gaps that exist in mental health – raising funds and investing in research to improve treatments, understand causes and help prevent the impact of mental illness.

We are focussing on three main areas of work at present.

  • Running a national consultation, putting the voice of people affected by depression at the heart of research planning (Depression: Asking the Right Questions).
  • Leading interdisciplinary work to better understand and improve psychological treatments, as recommended by a new commentary in Nature this month (Psy-IMPACT).
  • Supporting groundbreaking research through our MQ Fellows Programme. In this newsletter, we’re delighted to introduce one of our first fellows, Dr Susanne Amhari, who is exploring opportunities to improve the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

But before you read on… do you follow us on Twitter and Facebook? We’re talking about research programmes, funding opportunities, news, mental health and science research developments and more… Join the discussions!
