The Chica and Heinz Schaller Foundation Award in Translational Neuroscience

 

Recognising significant achievements by an individual in translational science, and in particular those where fundamental and conceptual understanding of the nervous system have been brought to support clinically relevant progress. Alternatively, scientists that have made sustained and significant steps in the translation of neuroscience into other scientific areas and domains and vice versa may likewise be recognised.

Other Benefits or Honours: The winner is required to give a lecture at the FENS Forum and serve on the selection committee of up to 3 future Chica and Heinz Schaller Foundation Awards.

Research Field: Translational Neuroscience

Eligibility: Candidates must have obtained their PhD at least 15 years ago (at the nomination deadline). Candidates must be nominated by fellow scientists (no self-application). The prize is international but priority will be given to candidates of European origin or who are working in Europe, whereby a large proportion of their research should have been done in Europe.

Requirements: Name and contact details of the scientist making the nomination, name and contact details of the candidate, CV and list of selected publications of the candidate, short research summary of the candidate describing their achievements in translational neuroscience with relevance to the award (500 words).
