FENS/IBRO-PERC support for NENS courses to be organised in 2025

Status: Open

Deadline: 2 Dec 2024

Funding body: FENS, IBRO-PERC

FENS and the IBRO Pan-Europe Regional Committee (IBRO-PERC) provide support to NENS schools** that are scheduling in-person or hybrid short courses or training in 2025.

In case your school is part of the Network of European Neuroscience Schools (NENS) and intends or has already scheduled a short course or training for 2025 that:
.
  • is taught in English
  • is focused on a main topic that is directly related to neuroscience
  • has the duration of minimum 5 days for in-person or hybrid courses that takes place in the period 20 February – 31 December 2025
  • provides a certificate of participation to the attendees at the end of the course
  • has as audience MSc and/or PhD neuroscience students
  • is accredited with ECTS points according to the Bologna guideline

you may consider to accept/reserve in your course 4 or 5 student slots (i.e., MSc or PhD students currently studying in Europe, but not in the country where the course is organised or where the NENS school has its seat) for the in-person courses, supported by FENS and IBRO-PERC. This adds an international element to your course, which might be of interest to your national students.

  • For each of the accepted student to the in-person course/training, FENS and IBRO-PERC will provide you with 750 EUR, intended to cover the organisational and administrative costs of the school.
  • In addition, each selected international student) will be awarded with a FENS and IBRO-PERC grant of 750 EUR to cover the expenses related to travel and accommodation.
  • This implies that the selected students will not pay a registration fee for the course, but accommodation and per diem they can pay for, due to the grant they receive.
  • Following the above-described scheme, FENS and IBRO-PERC will support up to 6 courses and 30 students for in-person courses.
*This initiative is jointly supported by the FENS Committee for Higher Education and Training (CHET) and IBRO-PERC.
**Course applications submitted by the NENS schools that did not benefit from this support in the recent years are highly encouraged.
