Malcolm Love (UK), Science Communication Specialist

Malcolm Love is a producer, presenter and public communication skills coach who specialises in public engagement of science. He runs workshops in the UK and internationally, training scientists and engineers to better engage via the media and public presentations.  Malcolm conducts media interviews and chairs events.

Eilís Dowd (IE), Chair of the Communication Committee

Dr Eilís Dowd is a Lecturer in Pharmacology at National University of Ireland, Galway.
One of Eilís’ main research interests is in using biomaterials to enhance cell-based therapies for Parkinson’s disease. Eilís was President of Neuroscience Ireland and President of the Network for European CNS Transplantation and Restoration (NECTAR) from 2014-2018. She currently sits on the Executive Committee of FENS and chairs the FENS Communications Committee. She is also Associate Editor of Neuronal Signaling, Section Editor of the European Journal of Neuroscience, and Editorial Board member at the British Journal of Pharmacology.

 

Patricia Gaspar Patricia Gaspar (FR), Chair of the Committee for Higher Education and Training

Patricia Gaspar is an Emeritus researcher of INSERM (Institut pour la Santé et la Recherche Médicale), working at the Paris Brain Institute. She co-headed the Institut du Fer à Moulin (2007-2012) and directed the Ecole des Neurosciences de Paris (2010-14). The main aim of her research has been to better our understanding of the developmental basis of neuropsychiatric disorders. She is the Chair of the FENS Committee for Higher Education and Training.

 

Istvan Hernadi (HU), Head of the Grastyan Translational Research Centre and the Department of Experimental Neurobiology at the University of Pecs – on behalf of the CARE Committee

Istvan’s  main interest is the development of preclinical models in translational behavioural pharmacology. He is the chair of the Animal Welfare Committee of the University of Pécs (since 2013), where he is also responsible for the University’s course about animal research. He is a past member of the FENS CARE committee (2016-2020) and takes an active role in different international research and animal welfare networks. At present, he is an executive committee member of the Hungarian Neuroscience Society (MITT).

 

Zeljka Krsnik (HR), Member of the ALBA Board of Directors 

Zeljka Krsnik is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience at the Department of Neuroscience of the University of Zagreb, Head of the Laboratory for Neurogenomics and Head of Laboratory for Digitalization of the Zagreb Brain Collection, as well as Assistant Director of Croatian Institute for Brain Research. Currently she chairs the Young IBRO Committee and is a member of the ALBA Network board of directors, IBRO Executive Committee, as well as a Committee member for Neuroscience and Brain Disease at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
